Tottenham Target £45m Star to Replace Richarlison, Who Is Up for Sale – Saudi Pro League

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to make Richarlison available for transfer after manager Ange Postecoglou decided to offload the Brazil international. However, transfer insider Dean Jones has informed GIVEMESPORT that the north London club may still choose not to invest heavily in a striker, even as they target Brentford’s Ivan Toney this summer.

Spurs have been competing for Champions League qualification and even spent part of the season atop the Premier League, despite losing star forward Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in a £100 million deal just hours before the season commenced. With the summer transfer window approaching, they have another chance to refresh their squad.

Postecoglou, who recently achieved his 20th win as manager with a 2-1 victory over Burnley, has been engaging in internal discussions with sporting director Johan Lange and chairman Daniel Levy about potential roster adjustments before the window opens.

Al-Hilal Optimistic About Signing Richarlison Ahead of Next Season

Al-Hilal, the newly crowned champions of the Saudi Pro League, are privately optimistic about securing a deal for Richarlison before the start of the 2024/25 campaign, according to MailOnline. The club faced frustration during the winter transfer window when they initially inquired about his availability.

While a formal offer for the 27-year-old striker has not yet been made, the report indicates that Tottenham Hotspur will likely consider offers for him as manager Ange Postecoglou plans a significant squad overhaul. Richarlison, who joined Spurs for £60 million from Everton less than two years ago, has been competing with captain Heung-min Son for a regular starting position, leading to uncertainty about his future at the club.

In his exclusive GIVEMESPORT column, respected journalist Dean Jones noted doubts about Richarlison’s status as he heads into next season. Tottenham would be willing to let him go if they can recoup the fee they initially paid. The Lilywhites find themselves in a strong negotiating position, especially with Richarlison still having three years left on his £90,000-per-week contract. This means they are unlikely to accept any cut-price offers from Al-Hilal or other interested clubs.

Dean Jones: Toney Seen as Possible Replacement for Richarlison

Dean Jones reports that Tottenham is preparing to put Richarlison on the market as manager Ange Postecoglou aims to raise significant funds to reshape his squad for the upcoming season. Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been identified as a potential replacement.

However, the respected journalist expresses skepticism about whether Spurs are willing to spend more than £45 million on the England international. Despite receiving a substantial nine-figure sum for Harry Kane less than a year ago, chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to invest heavily in new attacking talent during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT:

“Tottenham will let Richarlison go. There is not much doubt about him being potentially available, it just comes down to valuations being met.

“He has had a half decent season and Spurs will need to recoup as much money as they can on him for when they go about reshaping the squad this summer.

“A striker is definitely in their focus, and Ivan Toney is one of the players they are interested in. I do not believe they will pay more than £45million for him, from what I have been told, and I think that any striker they look to sign is probably going to be in that similar price bracket.

“Harry Kane might have left for £100million and not been replaced, but they won’t be spending silly money on a new forward.”

Dragusin’s Time in North London May Be Coming to an End

Radu Dragusin could be on the move again, potentially following Richarlison out the door, as Napoli is reportedly preparing to rekindle their interest in the central defender. The Italian club initially sought to attract him to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium before he signed with Tottenham in early 2024, according to The Sun.

The report indicates that Spurs may demand up to £40 million for the Romanian international, who has struggled to surpass Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the defensive hierarchy.

Consequently, he has managed only 244 minutes of playing time since his winter transfer from Genoa. However, manager Ange Postecoglou is not looking to facilitate his swift departure.
