The Saudi Pro League’s (SPL) Competitions Department announced the dates and kick-off times for Matchweeks 1 and 2 of the 2024-25 Roshn Saudi League on Thursday.
All the details regarding the fixtures, including the specific dates and times, have now been finalized, setting the stage for an exciting start to the season.
In scheduling the matches, several principles have been considered to ensure a smooth and well-organized season. These principles consider various factors, including potential calendar conflicts with other competitions.
External elements such as force majeure events have also been factored in to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances. This approach aims to provide flexibility and maintain the integrity of the schedule throughout the season.
1 – Each match will be spread out over three days.
2 – Three matches will be scheduled each day.
3—During the summer, matches will be held in two slots. The later ones will kick off at 9:00 pm, while the earlier ones will start between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, considering local prayer times.
Adhering to these principles, the 2024-25 season will begin on Thursday, August 22, with an exciting lineup of three matches. The opening game will see Al Taawoun hosting Al Fayha at 7:10 pm, setting the tone for the new season.
In addition to this match, the evening will feature two more fixtures kicking off at 9:00 pm. Al Riyadh will travel to take on Al Wehda in what promises to be a competitive encounter, while Al Nassr will play at home against Al Raed. This triple-header marks an exciting start to the season, offering fans plenty of football action to look forward to.

Matchweek 1 continues with three fixtures on Friday: Damac hosts Al Khaleej at 7:10 pm, and newly promoted Al Orobah travels to face Al Ahli at 9:00 pm. Al Qadsiah goes up against Al Fateh at the same time. The opening weekend wraps up on Saturday, August 24, with Al Kholood visiting Al Ittihad at 7:10 pm, RSL champions Al Hilal beginning their title defense away at Al Okhdood at 9:00 pm, and Al Shabab hosting Al Ettifaq, also at 9:00 pm.
The excitement continues with Matchweek 2 starting on Tuesday, August 27. Al Fateh will take on Al Ahli at 6:45 pm, Al Raed will face Al Qadsiah, and Al Fayha will host Al Nassr, both kicking off at 9:00 pm.
On Wednesday, August 28, Al Ettifaq will face Al Okhdood at 6:45 pm, followed by Al Hilal taking on Damac and Al Wehda playing against Al Orobah at 9:00 pm. The second round of fixtures concludes on Thursday, August 29, with Al Riyadh meeting Al Kholood at 6:55 pm, Al Khaleej hosting Al Shabab, and Al Taawoun welcoming Al Ittihad, both at 9:00 pm.
The dates for Matchweeks 3 to 8 will be announced once the AFC competition schedules involving RSL clubs have been confirmed.
