With MLS clubs now able to register new signings and ongoing negotiations for outgoing transfers abroad, the transfer market is buzzing. Here’s the latest across MLS.
The player wants to move; talks with Lyon are ongoing.
According to sources from GiveMeSport, negotiations between Lyon and the Colorado Rapids for Canadian international defender Moise Bombito are ongoing. However, no deal has been made between the two teams.
The player wants to go to Lyon to continue growing at a significant club in a top-five league.
After helping Canada reach the semifinals of the Copa America, Bombito has returned to Colorado and resumed training with the Rapids.
After Lyon’s initial offer of about $4 million was turned down, negotiations have continued. The Rapids claimed their offer of up to $5.5 million was insufficient. Although negotiations are ongoing, the clubs have talked about Lyon sending a player back to the Rapids to make up the difference. Should a deal be reached, it would surpass the Rapids’ present record of $3 million in outbound transfers.
Eagle Football Holdings, which also owns Crystal Palace and Botafogo, owns Lyon. Earlier this summer, It pushed through the signing of Thiago Almada from Atlanta United. Almada is expected to join Lyon in January but is currently at Botafogo.
Bombito, 24, is only in his second season of professional work, but already he has experienced a meteoric rise. He immediately made a name for himself as one of the top center-backs in Major League Soccer and as an absolute must-start for the Canadian national team.
At 23.16 mph, Bombito has the fastest sprint speed ever recorded in an MLS 2024 game this season. He continues to develop quickly and has exceptional physical attributes.

Minnesota is in talks to sign an Italian winger and a defender from Panama.
This summer, Minnesota United is trying to bring in several players. GiveMeSport has learned that they are negotiating to sign Edgardo Fariña, a center-back for Panama who plays internationally, from Independiente, and Italian forward Kelvin Yeboah from Genoa.
Yeboah, 24, may be added if a designated player spot becomes available. During the second half of the 2023–24 season, the adaptable attacker spent 1,121 minutes on loan with Standard Liege and recorded six goals and two assists. He has also played on loan at Montpellier and Augsburg. His breakthrough came in Austria, where he played for Strum Graz, where he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 26 games during the first half of the 2021–2022 season.
Yeboah competed internationally for both Italy and Ghana as a youth.
The 22-year-old Fariña has seven caps for Panama and started all four Copa America games. However, his team lost in the quarterfinals. The defender has played for clubs in Panama and Guatemala; while on loan with CSD Municipal last year, he helped the former win the top division in Guatemala. Additionally, Universitario in Panama features him.
Fariña is being pursued by a European club, so it’s unclear if a deal will be reached for him.
Under new head coach Eric Ramsay and sporting director Khaled El-Ahmad, Minnesota will have a busy summer.
The English attacker Samuel Shashoua, who most recently played for Albacete after graduating from Tottenham’s academy, was signed to begin their summer business along with the departures of Kervin Arriaga, Victor Eriksson, and wantaway star Emanuel Reynoso.
With the Reynoso to Club Tijuana deal, a DP spot became available. Minnesota’s two DP spots are occupied by forward Teemu Pukki and midfielder Robin Lod. However, Lod is susceptible to being bought down.
