Barcelona’s decision-makers are optimistic about completing a deal for a top summer transfer target within the week.
Diario Sport reports that Dani Olmo is the player in question.
After failing to pursue their primary target, Nico Williams, Barcelona’s focus has now firmly shifted to Dani Olmo as they look to bolster new coach Hansi Flick’s attack.
It has long been known that a contract agreement was reached with Olmo, a La Masia product, but negotiations with RB Leipzig have yet to produce a finalized deal.
However, if the latest media reports from Monday are accurate, Barcelona intends to make adjustments.
According to a report from Sport::
‘There will be a meeting on Tuesday with the sporting leaders of the German club with one point on the agenda: to find the formula that will make the transfer of the Spanish international to Barcelona possible. Barca want to sign Olmo this week.’

Despite heavy links with Barcelona, Nico Williams has confirmed he will not be leaving Athletic Club this summer.
Williams starred as Spain romped to victory at EURO 2024 this summer, scoring twice, including the opening goal against England in the final.
The 22-year-old’s electric performances sparked much transfer talk, with Barcelona believed to be the club most interested in his signature.
However, on Tuesday, Athletic posted a video on social media where Williams confirmed he would stay put for the time being, a decision that has significant implications for Barcelona’s transfer plans.
Williams came through the youth system and has made 122 appearances for the club so far, scoring 46 goals and helping them win the Copa del Rey last season.
