Two rounds of LALIGA EA SPORTS action and the end of the summer transfer window made for a hectic week for Spanish football fans. Below is a summary and discussion of the most significant headlines from the last seven days.

Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona is still flawless.

At the start of the new LALIGA EA SPORTS season, FC Barcelona leads the league with 12 points from 12 matchdays. Raphinha scored a hat-trick as Hansi Flick’s team, who have been playing very well, thrashed Real Valladolid 7-0 in Matchday 4.

Real Madrid defeated Real Betis 2-0 on Sunday to move up to eight points. In the 67th minute of the game, Kylian Mbappé scored his first goal for LALIGA EA SPORTS. Eight minutes later, he scored his second goal by converting a penalty kick. The Frenchman, who also scored in the UEFA Super Cup, plays in Spain’s top division and has scored three goals for his new team.

Fantastic week for Girona FC

Girona FC won both the weekend’s Matchday 4 and the midweek Matchday 3, adding six points to their total this past week.

They defeated CA Osasuna 4-0 at home on Thursday and defeated Sevilla FC 2-0 away on Sunday.

Alavés Deportivo is on the rise.

Deportivo Alavés is another team that has won two straight matchdays; the Basque team defeated UD Las Palmas 2-0 at home and Real Sociedad 2-1 on the road. The team led by Luis García Plaza now has seven points and is ranked sixth in the standings.

Valencia CF strikes first.

The Valencian Community derby between Valencia CF and Villarreal CF ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw on Saturday. This was Valencia CF’s first point of the season, which means that every LALIGA EA SPORTS club now has at least one point.

The summer transfer window for 2024 ends.

The 2024 summer transfer window ended on Friday, and several intriguing deals were announced on deadline day.
