According to Jude Bellingham himself, Turkish sensation Arda Güler has the potential to surpass England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
At the 2023 Golden Boy Awards, where Bellingham won with a record-breaking point total, he highlighted Güler’s immense talent.
Massimo Franchi, the award’s founder, shared details of a conversation with Bellingham at the ceremony. During their chat, Bellingham expressed hope that his younger brother, Jobe, would be a contender for the 2024 Golden Boy Award. He also praised Güler, noting the “incredible” skills the young Turkish player has shown in training. Even after receiving such a prestigious accolade, Bellingham’s praise for his teammate reflects his humility.
Jude Bellingham quickly becomes a role model for European football fans, solidifying his reputation as one of the brightest English talents. Since joining Real Madrid, he has seamlessly adapted to life in Spain, thriving on and off the pitch despite constant media attention.
With a massive social media following, Bellingham has become the most followed player in England’s Euro 2024 squad, boasting over 31.5 million Instagram followers. According to Casino Alpha, he earns more than £65,000 per sponsored post—more than double the average UK annual salary, reflecting his influence in the digital age.
Similarly, Turkish wonderkid Arda Güler, 19, is considered a national gem, much like Bellingham for England. After leaving Fenerbahçe for Real Madrid in 2023, Güler demonstrated loyalty to his former club by ensuring Madrid paid above his €17.5 million release clause, allowing Fenerbahçe to benefit from his transfer. Real Madrid agreed to pay €20 million upfront, including additional bonuses.
Güler made few appearances for Real Madrid’s first team during the 2023–24 La Liga season.
Due to intense competition for spots, his manager Carlo Ancelotti was only able to introduce him gradually, giving him 10 appearances during the campaign. Güler scored six goals in those ten games, which is impressive and earned him more calls to the Turkish senior squad.
Güler appears essential to Turkey’s chances of competing in Euro 2024. He registered a point in the team’s first group stage match, a 2-1 victory over Georgia.
Real Madrid and England sensation Jude Bellingham again delivered a clutch moment for his national team on Sunday evening, helping England narrowly defeat Slovakia in a dramatic Euro 2024 encounter. Deep into stoppage time, Bellingham executed a stunning overhead kick to bring England level, setting the stage for Harry Kane’s decisive header in extra time.
Bellingham, who celebrated his 21st birthday this weekend, has developed a reputation for scoring late goals. He has done so four times for Real Madrid this season and twice in stoppage time for England. After his trademark celebration, arms outstretched to the crowd, he was seen mouthing, “Who else?” to the fans.
In a more controversial moment, Bellingham appeared to blow a kiss and make a suggestive gesture, which some interpreted as directed at the Slovakia bench. However, the midfielder quickly took to Twitter/X to clarify that the gesture was meant for his friends.
Following the game, Bellingham acknowledged that he relished returning the favor to the English media and supporters, some of whom were whistling at him and others of whom were demanding that he be removed from the team. “It’s a combination of a lot of things. Playing for England is an enjoyable feeling but it’s also a lot of pressure. You hear people talk a lot of rubbish. It’s nice when you can deliver and give them a little bit back,” he told talkSport.
“Maybe it was a message to a few people. I was very happy at the end, lots of adrenaline. You know what I mean by the rubbish. Playing for England should be the most proud moment of your career, but often it’s quite difficult.”
“There’s a really high intense pressure. The fans expect a lot from us regardless of what happened in recent tournaments years and years ago. People talk a lot. You do have to take it personally a little bit. We work so hard at this game.”
“We come in every day, we work hard to put on a performance for the fans, sometimes it doesn’t go well and sometimes it feels like there’s a a bit of a pile on, it’s not nice to hear. But you can always use it and for moments like that, it’s nice to throw it back to some people.”
Bellingham has undoubtedly demonstrated that he can withstand pressure from his club and country. Still, more will come when he returns to Spain. This season at the Santiago Bernabeu, everything went perfectly for him. Still, if he has any setbacks, Los Blancos will also quickly come under fire.
