Since his arrival at Real Madrid this summer, Kylian Mbappe has been the subject of high expectations. Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who himself has won the Ballon d’Or five times, has predicted that Mbappe will follow in his footsteps and claim the prestigious award during his time at the ‘best club ever.’

After joining La Liga winners Real Madrid in the summer, Kylian Mbappe has been backed by Cristiano Ronaldo to thrive. Ronaldo believes the forward will win a Ballon d’Or at the “best club ever.”

Kylian Mbappé, after scoring 256 goals in 308 games during his seven-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain, is now aiming to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary record of 450 goals in 438 games at Real Madrid. Regarded as one of the best players in the world, Mbappé’s move to Madrid represents the next chapter in his career as he strives to cement his place among football’s greats. With his incredible pace and finishing ability, he is well-positioned to make a significant impact and pursue Ronaldo’s iconic legacy at the Bernabéu.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel with Rio Ferdinand, a football expert from TNT Sports, Ronaldo did not just praise Mbappe or his new team. He went a step further, calling the Spanish powerhouses, Real Madrid, the ‘best club ever, in the history of football.’

Mbappe scored 256 goals in 308 matches for PSG, winning six Ligue 1 titles, including one with Monaco in 2016/17. However, the France international has been elusive for a UEFA Champions League title, an accolade his new club Madrid won for a record 15th time in June.

Mbappe won six Ligue 1 titles with PSG after scoring 256 goals in 308 games for the team. He also won one with Monaco in 2016–17. The France international, however, has yet to win a UEFA Champions League title—a record 15 times for his new club Madrid in June.

“I think he will do well because of the club structure… it’s nice, it’s good, it’s solid,” Ronaldo said.

“They have a great coach and the president who has been there for many many years. I think it won’t be a big problem because of his talent. He has shown what he is capable of doing. In my opinion, he can be the next Golden Ball [Ballon d’Or] winner.”

Ronaldo also pointed to several top young players who could challenge Mbappé for future Ballon d’Or titles. He mentioned Erling Haaland for his goal-scoring prowess, Vinícius Júnior for his creativity at Real Madrid, and Jude Bellingham for his dominant midfield play. With talents like these rising quickly, the race for the Ballon d’Or will be highly competitive in the coming years.

He added: “Him, [Erling] Haaland, [Jude] Bellingham, Lamine [Yamal]. I think this new generation, they have a lot of potential.”

When Ancelotti’s team defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium in June, they increased their stellar Champions League record to 15 wins, their second in three years.

Ronaldo talked about the “aura” surrounding the team and the specific factors that contribute to their success in the European league.

He explained: “Madrid is the kind of team they don’t rush under pressure. People say they’re lucky in the Champions [League]. No they are not lucky. They’re prepared for this kind of moment. The Bernabeu has that different aura.

“Now, if you say that Madrid will be better, we don’t know. Mbappe is there now. I think Madrid will stay strong, but I don’t know if they will be better than last year. Only God knows.”

On September 17, Mbappe will play in his first Champions League match at the Bernabeu against Stuttgart.
