Roma has officially completed the acquisition of Artem Dovbyk from Girona FC in a transfer deal valued at €30.5 million. This amount is supplemented by additional performance-related bonuses that could increase the total financial commitment.
The total potential value of the Deal could reach up to €38.5 million, including €5.5 million in bonuses and a 10 percent share of any future resale fee.
The club’s announcement emphasizes that this transfer marks a historic moment for Roma, as it is the first time the team has acquired the top scorer from a previous season in a league outside of Italy.
The Ukrainian international, celebrating his 27th birthday in June, was acquired from SK Dnipro for €7.75 million in the summer of 2023.
In his inaugural La Liga season, he made a significant impact, netting 24 goals and providing eight assists in 36 appearances. His impressive performance earned him the Pichichi Trophy, akin to the Capocannoniere in Italy.
In addition to his impressive club performances, Artem Dovbyk also made significant contributions on the international stage by representing Ukraine at EURO 2024. Throughout his international career, he has accumulated ten goals in 31 senior appearances for his national team.
The towering striker stirred up some controversy when his agent shared a photo of a No. 9 jersey on social media, a number currently worn by Tammy Abraham.
Instead, he has officially been given the No. 11 shirt.

Roma has successfully wrapped up its quest for a new forward by finalizing the acquisition of Artem Dovbyk, who was last season’s top scorer in La Liga. This marks a significant move for the club as they sought a prolific striker to bolster their attacking options.
The 27-year-old earned the Pichichi trophy last season after netting 24 goals and providing eight assists in 36 appearances for Girona.
He has now transferred to the Italian capital in a deal valued at €33 million plus bonuses, with Girona also receiving 10% of any future sell-on fee.
The Ukrainian international has inked a five-year contract with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, turning down significant interest from Atlético de Madrid to secure his move to the Giallorossi.
This completes Roma’s extended summer quest for a new forward. Throughout the season, the club had been linked with several names, including Romelu Lukaku, Alexander Sørloth, Youssef En-Nesyri, and Arnaud Kalimuendo.

AS Roma has officially confirmed the acquisition of Artem Dovbyk from Girona, who was last season’s Pichichi winner. According to MD, the total transfer fee is approximately €40 million.
Dovbyk, who joined Girona from Dnipro-1 for €7.75 million last summer, made an immediate impact by scoring 24 goals and providing ten assists, contributing to Girona’s third-place finish. The transfer deal is valued at around €34 million with an additional €4-5 million in performance-related bonuses, with Dnipro-1 receiving 20% of the total fee.
Roma has also negotiated a 10% sell-on fee clause with Girona, which is parting with its primary goal scorer. Dovbyk has inked a contract worth €3.5 million annually and is committed to the Italian club for the next five years.
In anticipation of Dovbyk’s departure, Girona has already secured a potential replacement by signing Abel Ruiz from Braga earlier in the transfer window. Ruiz will vie for playing time with Cristhian Stuani. However, it remains to be seen whether Girona will seek another forward before their debut Champions League season.
